Today students and faculty celebrated Greenhill’s 69th Founders’ Day. During the assembly, students, guests and faculty were taken down Greenhill’s memory lane with a time capsule, which was examined by two primer students and Assistant Head of School Tom Perryman. Annual Faculty leader awards were given out as well and new Greenhill Legends were acknowledged. The celebration also included the annual singing of Best Friends, with the piano being played by legend Michael Manes, retired head of Greenhill Fine Arts Department. Not only was it a day to celebrate Greenhill School, but as Head of School Lee Hark pointed out, it was also a day to remember the events that happened on September 11, 2001. These events were reflected upon with a moment of silence.
The day concluded with an ice cream social during Heart of the Hill where students from all grade levels came together to celebrate the day with their younger and older friends.
